Our Story

In July 1964, three local artists Philip Arabia, Richard Cassel and James Hanna shared a vision of forming an organization, which would bring amateur and professional artists together in an effort to increase their skills through workshops and exhibits, and at the same time, to increase community awareness of the fine arts.

The Willingboro Art Alliance was incorporated as a non-profit corporation in September 1964. The membership grew rapidly and is now over 200.

The Alliance holds workshops each Wednesday morning at the Kennedy building in Willingboro. Live demonstrations are presented at the monthly meetings. Special workshops and life classes are offered at minimal cost in the studio. A show for members is held every spring. An open juried show is held in the fall.

Members are encouraged to participate in special exhibits, quarterly exhibits at the Kennedy Center, and to hold their own 1, 2, or 3-person shows. An exhibit committee is always available to assist members in setting up and dismantling shows.

Membership in the Alliance is open to all residents of the United States. Annual fees are $25.00. To apply for membership, fill in the application form and send to the WAA address on the form.
